It was Good Friday (Easter), however this was probably the greatest Friday ever. Launching myself off a 233m tower attached to a giant rubber band, now that is what I call living. I think it’s safe to say that yes, I am an adrenalin Junkie! The first time I skydived, I forced my skydive companion to let me go out of the plane backwards and perform a few ungraceful backflips. Which, he was happy to do according to his instructions, he also let me put us both into a controlled death spin whilst flying our parachute back down to earth.
Macau Tower, where I plummeted from
This Good Friday though was something I had wanted to tick off the list for a very long time. To try bungee jumping and why not go right to the big league, literally, and jump the world highest bungee jump. So, this year I’m ticking items off my bucket list, from snowboarding in Japan, swimming with whale sharks in the Philippines, Hiking the Great Wall of China and visiting Hawaii. I therefore, had to contact the awesome folk at AJ Hacket Macau to book me in for their world’s highest bungee jump. They have a super professional team of specialists that have worked in the bungee, high ropes and heart racing amusement industry (for people like myself) for decades. The whole time I was super confident with putting my life in their hands. Even though as a natural human instinct, I double thought, why on earth would I launch my body from a 233m platform attached to a rubber band? That is until I pulled my head in with the answer. Because it will be one of the greatest feelings you will ever have in your life! So I got myself up and over to the Macau Tower first thing on Good Friday morning, after all the excitement leading up to it the previous day. The excitement and anticipation only intensified. I thought maybe I am over hyping this all a little, but until a jumped out from the platform that hangs of the Macau tower at 233m. I knew I hadn’t, and all I could think of was not only how sore my face would be from smiling for the remainder of the day, but that I also wanted to get my ass back up there and do it again.
If only I had more time, story of my life, right. Anyways I really did have to get my backpack packed again to catch my flight to the Philippines for the next bucket list item to be checked off. In saying that though, I know I will be heading back to Macau again to visit my buddies at AJ Hacket Macau for more bungee jumping, after all it is the worlds highest so why would I go anywhere else. That and each jump after is cheaper, and after your 3rd jump you get a 4th one free, so I that definitely motivates me to head back there again. So, if you are in Hong Kong, Macau or even just China. You need, and I say NEED to get yourself over to the Macau Tower and try it out. The feeling of achievement that you will have afterwards is phenomenal along with the mixed in excitement of the other people who had also just jumped too. Once you get yourself harnessed up, the excitement is just electrifying. Oh and did I tell you it was one of the best things you could do! I think by now you get my point, if you want to conquer your fear of heights or love highly intensified adrenalin rush activities. Do yourself a favor and try bungee jumping with AJ Hacket Macau.
